First Baptist Church of Butler is a body of believers who seek to glorify Jesus Christ in everything they do. For over one hundred years First Baptist has been a church dedicated to local, national, and international missions.
First Baptist participates in local missions by participating in the FAITH ministry. FAITH is a weekly outreach and inreach strategy. Through FAITH members of First Baptist make evangelistic visits to guests, as well as ministry visits to members who are experiencing difficulties at that particular time. Of course the weekly Sunday School and Worship times are integral aspects of the local mission efforts.
Members of First Baptist also believe in national missions. One example is the trip First Baptist took to New Orleans in 2007 on the heels of Hurricane Katrina. During that trip the team, which included all ages from teenagers to senior adults, hung drywall and installed insolation. More than carpentry the team was able to share the Gospel and encourage the home owners and people of New Orleans.

First Baptist also has a great passion for international missions. This is evidenced by the rewards given for the church’s gifts to the Lottie Moon International Missions Offering. Not only does the church give to international missions, but they also go on international mission trips. There have been several trips to Costa Rica in recent years where the members participate in door-to-door evangelism in efforts to help establish and invigorate local churches.
No matter what the event in the life of the church, the goal is the same: exalt the name of Jesus Christ and call others to faith in Him.
